How we source

Matcha starts with the people behind it.

We work directly with farmers, tea masters, merchants, and mills, sourcing tencha for single-estate lots with cold storage based in Yame, Japan.

Our standard

The source is the standard.

Our team is on the ground in Yame and Kagoshima, Japan. We work directly with farmers, tea masters, merchants, and mills, sourcing tencha for single-estate lots and managing a dedicated cold chain. Every matcha is chosen for origin, cultivar, tasting notes, and purpose.

That is where quality starts. Great matcha is the farm, the shading, the cultivar, the mill, the storage, and the tasting work that happens before a matcha earns a place in our lineup.

We want you to know what you are drinking, why it tastes the way it does, and who helped make it possible.

Producer relationships

We build from the people first: farmers, tea masters, merchants, and mills whose work we know directly.

Single-estate lots

We source tencha for lots with a clear origin story, so each matcha has a place, producer context, and purpose.

Cold-chain control

Matcha is sensitive to heat, light, and time, so storage and movement matter after the tea leaves the mill.

Purpose-led tasting

Each matcha is chosen for it's unique aroma, flavor profile, and how it performs in the way you will actually drink it.

How to read our labels

We label matcha by the details that actually help you taste.

Cultivar

The tea plant variety, or blend of varieties, used for that matcha.

Origin

The prefecture, region, or producer relationship behind the lot.

Tasting Notes

Like fine wine, this is where the magic shows up: aroma, texture, finish, and the flavors that help you find what you love.

How to shop

Discover the matcha that fits your palate.

Start with tasting notes. They are more useful than a vague grade because they give you a real way to compare matcha: fruit, florals, nuts, creaminess, umami, sweetness, finish, and intensity.

The right matcha is not universal. It depends on the flavors you notice, the textures you like, and how you prepare it.
